What is SharePoint?

SharePoint Online is a Windows web-based platform, and a productivity tool that IITS provides for our Schools, offices, departments and faculty to upload, organise and share information and documents online.

Users may request for a SharePoint workspace to be set up and thereafter manage the workspace themselves. The services available to the user to manage the workspace include adding in new users, teammates or other collaborators. Users and their collaborators may set up websites, wikis, discussion forums, as well as share information, upload, create and edit documents online, all of which can be centrally edited and accessed. The service also comes with versioning and archiving capability, thereby improving overall team productivity.

On top of the abovementioned services, IITS provides user training on the use and management of individual SharePoint team sites upon request. Please refer to IT policy at https://smu.sharepoint.com/sites/iits/SitePages/Policies.aspx.

Specification

The above service is available for both collaborative and project-based purposes for the various Schools, Departments, Offices and members of the faculty. User training and support services on the use and/or management of workspaces are available upon request from the IT Help Centre (please contact helpdesk@smu.edu.sg).

Terms of Use

Usage of SharePoint workspaces is strictly for collaborative and not for individual use. Please review the Terms of Use for the usage of the Collaboration Workspace.
