The CPMS system provides a dashboard of key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and analyze the health status of SMU. Users are able to define strategy maps based on different perspectives or objectives and also build cause-and-effect relationships between the KPIs.
QlikView is a flexible data reporting and analysis tool that provides easy access to visually rich, interactive dashboards that users can build and modify.

eduroam stands for "education Roaming", is the secured, world-wide roaming wireless Internet access service developed for the International education community.
eLearn is an integrated suite of web-based tools that can be used to supplement in-class teaching. By design, every official course offered in SMU will have a course shell on eLearn that comes with automated enrolment updates.
EDMS is a document management solution that allows users to store, index, version-control, retrieve, share and archive electronic documents or files. The University uses the off-the-shelf commercial product Documentum produced by EMC.
SMU provides email accounts and email services to all authorised users of the University to improve communications and administrative efficiency. All current SMU faculty, staff, students, affiliates and alumni will be assigned an official SMU email address and account. SMU recognised departments and groups including student groups with specific needs for generic or departmental mailing addresses may also apply for such a department or group email account.
Enterprise Vault Email Archiving (EV) is used to extend individual mailbox size by moving portion of older emails and attachments to another online storage. The EV automatically archived email messages and attachments when your mailbox exceeds 80 percent capacity, starting with oldest messages first.
Jobstreet is an externally hosted job application portal that supports the HR recruitment processes from the posting of job openings, applying for jobs by the public, to the evaluating and shortlisting of applicants for interviews by the line managers.
EMS supports the needs of schools and departments in organizing internal and external events. The system allows event administrators to manage event registrations, take attendance and retrieve contact lists for analysis and marketing purposes.
IITS provides event support for SMU events (e.g. talks, conferences) organized by the university, schools, or offices that are held within SMU premises (e.g. Auditoriums).
FBS allows the SMU community to book designated facilities (including meeting rooms, classrooms, seminar rooms, sports hall) online.
The employee Window of Information and e-Services ("eWise") is an intranet portal which provides a one-stop service for seamless access to information and e-services for our staff and faculty members.
The Financial Management System is a tool which automates and supports key financial management processes, including annual budget planning and submission, cost centre accounting, funds management, general ledger, asset management to accounts receivable and payable.
The Office of Advancement and Alumni uses this service to manage the funds and donations raised through various campaigns and initiatives.
HRMS automates and supports key human resource administrative processes from organizational, employee records, training and performance management to compensation and benefits administration services. Members of the faculty and staff can also access employee self-help services to perform HR transactions via the eWise portal, e.g. update of personal information, display of pay slip, apply for leave.
ISIS is a suite of solutions that automates and supports the University's end-to-end student administrative processes, from admissions, records and overseas / local exchange records to student financials, financial aid, degree audit and graduation management.
IITS provides IP Telephony voice services to the SMU community. The feature-rich service provides faculty and staff with capabilities such as voice mail, conference calling, IDD, call forwarding, extensions to mobile phones, etc.
IITS provides technical advice to schools and offices, and also acquires IT assets, including computers, printers, IP phones, network cables and other IT peripherals, on behalf of the schools and offices as well.
iTunes U is a service provided by Apple which provides access to publicly downloadable material (audio and video) provided by insititutes of higher learning.
This IITS service will include the installation, maintenance, support and the continous improvement of teaching facilities in the classrooms and educational spaces within SMU.
Instructors can use this tool to capture lesson materials inside or outside class. Recordings are indexed and packaged into small files for ease of delivery to mobile devices. Students can then watch or listen to these lesson materials from their smart phones, tablets and PC's.
The Library suite of services allows the SMU community and public to access both hardcopy and online resources to support and enhance their research, teaching and learning activities. IITS also supports the operations of Library, from acquisitions, circulation to cataloging of the various research resources.
The LION suite of services is a tool also known as the Peer Learning Platform. The Peer Learners Platform allows for the cross-class/cross-courses sharing and exchange, and includes a knowledge base to capture course related Questions, Answers and Resources for multi-terms' references. The tool also supports a voting mechanism for Questions & Answers, as well as generate input statistics to highlight Top Contributors, Most Viewed Materials and Top Questions for Courses in order to enhance in-class learning.
This service gives access to a loan pool of PCs, notebooks, Printers, IP phones and clickers and is available for short-loan by members of the faculty, staff and departments. Faculty, staff and departments who have a need for short term IT equipment may also apply to the Technology Help Centre (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The mobile portal is a one-stop mobile web gateway to host mobile applications (both web and native) of the university. Application owners can refer to the recommended guidelines and standards that SMU adopts, as well as request for their applications (self-hosted or not) to be included on this platform.
Each year, IITS will invite and secure an attractive PC and notebook tender that comes with the latest CPU configurations for purchase by eligible users of the SMU community. Each PC or notebook will come pre-loaded with software such as Microsoft Office Suite and anti-virus software.
IITS is responsible for the provision of personal computers and notebooks to eligible members of the SMU Faculty and Staff. This service entails IITS to take care of the procurement, delivery, configuration, installation, repair, maintenance, replacement, support and disposal of all University-owned PCs and notebooks as part of the IITS PC lifecycle management and support services.

The service provided under the SAP Purchase Order (PO) system supports key procurement functions such as purchase order creation or approval, goods receipt and invoice payment.
The Research Management Systems support the research administrators from schools, institutes, centres and offices (e.g. the Office of Research, Library) to manage research-related activities, such as grants and publications. The users can also utilize the services to track and report research-related data.
Securing and protecting SMU’s networks, servers, information assets and users from increasingly sophisticated internal and external threats are of paramount importance. IITS undertakes preemptive measures and tasks as part of the overall IT security services and vulnerability management in order to ensure that our IT environment may be secured.
The service provided by the IITS entails the hosting, creation, deletion, granting of user access, space quota allocation/increase and applying security maintenance work.
The SMS Bulk Messaging Service allows SMU the capability and capacity to communicate rapidly with large numbers of students and staff, particularly in the event of an emergency.
This service by IITS aims to provide the school with campus-wide high-speed wired and wireless networks in SMU, to allow members of the SMU community access to both Intranet and Internet services.
The SMU NetID (or commonly known as SMU Login ID) is an active directory for all SMU faculty, staff, students and affiliates to connect to the University networks and access University IT resources. Each individual account is used for the purposes of user network authentication, and as a single sign-on in order to gain access to SMU IT resources, systems, applications and services (e.g. Email and Intranet etc.)
IITS facilitates the acquisition, licensing and installation of software centrally for the SMU community to support research, teaching, learning and administration processes within SMU. This service would include two categories of software, namely an SMU-licensed standard suite of software, and a non-standard suite of software.
OnTRAC II is an externally hosted career services management system that automates and supports the management of student internships, community services, workshops and jobs. OnTRAC II also enhances how information is shared and processed within the University, as well as between students and employers.
BOSS is the system employed in SMU for the registration of courses every term. BOSS empowers students with the choice of selecting courses for their own curriculum through a bidding system, which uses two types of currency known as e-dollars (e$) and e-points (e-pts).
The Course Evaluation System is a tool which automates and supports the student evaluation of teaching for all courses that are offered.
The Student Employment System (SES) is a user-friendly, hassle-free system providing both employers and SMU undergraduates with a platform to facilitate part-time recruitment/employment online. With this system, students can effectively seek part-time or temporary job opportunities, while employers are provided with a platform to put up job openings for recruitment purposes.
IITS provides high-speed wired and wireless network access to the Internet and SMU Intranet to our SMU users within the SMU Residences @ Prinsep. On-site IT services and support are also extended to these users during Helpdesk office hours.
SLiMS is a tool which automates and supports the management of co-curricular activities (CCA) clubs, activities, events, external participation and awards.
The Online Access to Student Information System (also known as OASIS) is an intranet portal that provides a one-stop and seamless access to information and e-services for students.
Qualtrics is an externally hosted online survey tool that supports the SMU community in managing surveys to meet their research and academic needs.
IT consultancy and advisory services are provided across SMU to help members of the faculty, staff, schools, offices and functional units of SMU better use technology for personal and departmental effectiveness, and greater business and operational efficiency.
The Technology Help Centre or IT Helpdesk is the first level of contact for all SMU users for any IT-related services / requests provided by IITS. Located at the Concourse Level under the School of Accountancy and School of Law, the IT Help Centre agents are dedicated to servicing our users via phone, email or walk-in.
SAP Travel Management System supports the administrative processes for travel requests and claims. Members of the faculty and staff can also access employee self-services to perform travel management transactions via the eWise portal.
Virtual Desktop enables MAC, iOS & Android devices to access SMU Intranet services running on Windows environment overcoming web browser and platform compatibility issues.
Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a secured network connection where remote (off-campus) SMU users may connect to SMU network to access the University’s computing facilities or IT services that are not made available through the web-browser or the Internet. Such services would include access to School or department servers, networked printers, faculty's and staff's personal “H:” or home drives or other shared network drives and IT resources.
This tool supports synchronous communications via web. Participants of meeting/training session can join the web session via their mobile devices. Host has to conduct the session from PC or Laptop. This tool can be used for online teaching during pandemic/disaster, when physical interaction in a classroom setting is not possible. WebEx can also be used for research collaboration, briefings and online meetings.
TThe Web unit in the Web and Media Technologies division provides a number of web development and design services for members of the faculty, staff within the university. The services that are provided for official departments, institutes and groups include web hosting, web site design and maintenance, as well as web application development.
